THURSDAY 30TH NOVEMBER: Lidl has today unveiled a new limited edition gift box of its Cien deodorant range to rival brands this Christmas. The collection comes with a unique twist - it is inspired by best-selling store locations for its Cien body spray range - Hull, Barry, Leith and Peckham.

Perfect as a stocking filler for Lidl superfans and proud residents alike, each gift box contains full sized body sprays’ of all four scents. Each can has a specially designed label featuring an iconic landmark from the area - Hull’s Humber Bridge, Barry’s arcade, Peckham’s Rye Lane and Edinburgh Castle for Leith.

The gift set also features a love letter to each area, acting as a ‘description’ of each aroma:

  • Cien Hull: ‘A strong northern aroma that’ll make any day feel ‘reet grand’. Expect a smooth industrial ambience, a bold smattering of seagulls. This is a scent made for the City (‘til I die).’
  • Cien Barry: ‘What’s occurring in Cien Barry? Don’t get me wrong, to be honest, at the end of the day, this fragrance has the versatility of an omelette, filled with the subtle scents of the arcade, bright beach huts and rickety fairground rides.’
  • Cien Peckham: ‘A soulful, southern scent, grounded in bold beats and bars. Expect an essence of barber shops, salt fish, scenic rooftop restaurants and notes of the Old Nags Head. That’ll do, Rodney.’
  • Cien Leith: ‘An eclectic aroma of community and perseverance. With industrious roots, this fragrance boasts notes of street art, sourdough and sea mist, with booze soaked beer mats and friendly dugs aplenty.’

To mark the launch, the discounter has even created a cheeky parody video. Set in a Lidl store, the film tells the story of an employee who disrupts a standard day at the supermarket when he stumbles across the gift box while stacking shelves. As soon as he sprays the intoxicating aroma of ‘Cien Hull’, customers and colleagues lose all inhibitions - dropping shopping baskets and abandoning tills to run towards the delicious scent and grab the box from the shelf for themselves.

While the range is not available in store, Lidl is giving away FREE gift boxes of the full collection nationwide with 500 packs up for grabs - making it the ideal Christmas present! Customers simply need to register their interest at info@lidlcien.co.uk and cross their fingers. The giveaway opens on 30th November 00:01 and all entries must be received no later than 7th December 23:59.
