21st June, London – Lidl has calculated that legendry music icon, Sir Elton John, could save £291,000 if he swapped to the discount retailer for his rumoured daily bouquet purchase. The saving will come in handy for his retirement, as this Sunday 25th June will see the 76-year-old give a historic final performance headlining Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage.

Well known for his extravagant spending sprees, the pop legend once famously revealed that he racked up a £293,000 florist bill over 20 months because “Well, I like flowers”.*

After the curtain closes on his epic show, the pop mogul will no doubt be filling his homes with fresh bouquets as he spends more time there. If Elton bought a bunch of his rumoured favourite fresh Roses at £2.59 each day from Lidl’s fresh flower offering, over 20 months, he would spend over 300 times less than his famous bill!

In fact, the Lidl Dancer singer could fill twenty of the rooms in his Windsor country house with a new bunch of roses each day for 15 years with his £293,000 budget.

With long-lasting bouquets, seasonal blooms and everyday favorites in Lidl’s extenstive flower collection, no matter what the occasion or budget, shoppers will be able to find some blooming lovely options.
