LIDL REVEALS HOLIDAY HOURS AND SEASONAL SAVINGS

28.11.2024 | London, UK

Lidl GB

Lidl has unveiled its Christmas and New Year opening hours for 2024, making it easier for customers to make the most of their festive shopping plans.

As in previous years, all Lidl stores will be closed on Christmas Day. Most stores will also remain closed on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day*, but customers are encouraged to check their local store's opening hours on the online store finder or through the Lidl Plus app.

To help make festive shopping even smoother, customers can use Lidl Plus to find the best time to shop at their local store (1), helping avoid peak times. Typically, the busiest times in store are around lunchtime, with the highest levels of footfall being recorded between 12pm and 2pm. Those who want to miss the midday rush should instead opt to shop between 8am and 10am, or 6pm onwards, which Lidl data showed to be the quietest times in store (2).

For those looking to make some extra savings this season, customers can bag exclusive deals ahead of the big day from Thursday 19th December until 1st January through Lidl Plus (3). From seasonal showstoppers to party essentials, deals are set to include:

  • £3 off Deluxe Polar Express Train
  • £1 off Deluxe Sticky Toffee Crown
  • 50p off Deluxe 8 Prawn Toasties
  • 50p off Deluxe 12 Vol au Vents
  • 50p off Deluxe Fish & Chip Rösti Baskets
  • Buy 3 get 30% off on a selection of Deluxe wines, inlcuding New Zealand Premium Sauvignon Blanc [2022], South Africa Pinotage Rosé [2022] and Chilean Malbec Reserva Privada [2023] (4)

Update comes as Lidl brought back its Christmas Toy Bank at the start of the month, with the aim of donating over 100,000 toys to children who might otherwise go without, helping ensure a magical Christmas for everyone. Customers still have until the 16th of December to drop off new and unopened toys at any Lidl store across the country before they’re distributed locally to children of all ages. Items such as toys, games, books, puzzles, and arts and crafts can be donated, from small stocking fillers to larger gifts.
