HEATWAVE HACKS FOR YOUR GARDEN

Keep your garden thriving through the heatwave with Lidl’s new range of firey coloured flowers, all under £5

Whilst the summer heatwave has been a welcome surprise for the nation it seems some UK gardens just can’t handle the heat.  To revive tired gardens, Lidl UK is launching a new range of flowers that thrive in the sunshine and add a pop of summer colour to outdoor spaces.

Available in stores this week until stocks last, the collection includes gorgeous Asiatic Lilies for just £3.49. These tropical flowers will brighten up any life-lacking garden and create a beautiful summer display. They flourish in any type of well-drained soil, making them an easy-care addition to an overheated garden. Choose from firey red, yellow or orange for an outdoor display as hot as the weather.

With the heatwave here to stay why not invest in a Clematis (£3.99) – a beautiful climbing plant that likes the sunshine. Vertical plants are one of 2018’s up and coming garden trends with the hashtag #verticalgardens being used more than 150,000 times on Instagram

A stand out in the collection is Lidl’s Pentas Lanceolate (£2.49) – an evergreen plant with stunning star shaped flowers. Perfect in beds, borders, pots and baskets and available in a range of sunny colours to spruce up that tired garden.

Bring a touch of elegance to your outdoor space with a Dianthus (£1.99). Made up of stunning flowers the plant also releases a sweet clove-like perfume attracting bees and butterflies to add a burst of wildlife to your summer garden.

Asiatic Lillies, Clematis and Dianthus are all available in stores from Thursday 19th July and Petas Lanceolate from Sunday 22nd July.
