Lidl GB is gearing up for its biggest Easter ever after an eggcellent start to 2023, as customers look for great value without compromising on quality.

After welcoming almost one million new shoppers to its stores over the Easter period last year, the discounter, which was recently named the UK’s fastest growing supermarket, is anticipating a surge of shoppers this weekend.

Ahead of the bank holiday bonanza, Lidl is advising its customers about the optimum time to stock up on Easter essentials, to help them plan ahead and pick the best times to shop.

Over the Easter period last year, data found that the quietest times to shop were between 8am and 10am, and from 6pm onwards. Meanwhile, Saturday was the busiest day for shopping, with stores seeing the highest levels of footfall between 10am-1pm, before starting to quieten down in the afternoon.

The supermarket has also confirmed that stores across England and Wales will be open as normal until 10pm on Good Friday and Saturday. Stores will be closed on Easter Sunday, opening again between 8am-8pm on the bank holiday Monday. Some store opening times may vary and customers are advised to check the store finder on Lidl’s website, for details on their local Lidl.

Customers have already been stocking up on Lidl’s popular Easter treats with confectionery sales up 11% on last year. Demand is only set to continue as customers bag last minute bargains before the bank holiday, including the discounter’s Deluxe Marble Egg (£6.99) - recently recognised by Good Housekeeping Institute taste test. Alongside others in its Easter range, the Deluxe Apple and Cinnamon Hot Cross Buns (£1.39) and Deluxe West Country Lamb Leg (£9.99 per k/g) also received accolades from the prestigious institute.

Customers on the Lidl Plus app have until Wednesday 5th April to bag one free Favorina Easter treat when spending over £25 in a single shop. Further information about store opening times and other offers and promotions can also be found on the app.
