WEDNESDAY 23RD NOVEMBER: A seasonal staple for any winter wardrobe, Lidl is once again sleighing the festive fashion game as its brand-new festive jumper for 2023 lands in store today, priced at just £7.99.

As part of the launch, the brand has also announced that for the first time, every jumper between 2020 and 2023 will be available to rent for £2 a day on the UK’s largest peer-to-peer fashion rental app, By Rotation. With previous Christmas jumpers selling every two seconds*, the rental offering is ideal for fashionistas heading to multiple parties this year, or those looking to dress to impress.

To really add some festive sparkle, Lidl has also collaborated with slow-fashion specialist, Lydia Bolton, on three bespoke Lidl jumpers inspired by pop culture Christmas icons, available exclusively as part of the Lidl x By Rotation collection. The limited edition jumpers are made from upcycled textiles, transformed into this season’s must have item:

  • The Carey: All you’ll want for Christmas is this jumper, a fabulously festive red look with a trendy off-the-shoulder cut, complete with big bows, meaning renters can dress to the nines AND the 90s.
  • The Lewis: Giving all the X(mas) Factor, family, friends and colleagues alike will be dazzled by the seasonal sparkle of this jumper. Combining gold, glitz, tassels and glamour into one jumper - this one requires a moment like this to wear!
  • The John: Step into Christmas with this trendy blue turtleneck with festive frills, sequins and stars. Designed to be an effortlessly fashionable yet bold statement piece, it’ll rocket you into the festive mood.

Eshita Kabra, Founder & CEO of By Rotation says of the campaign: “By Rotation is thrilled to partner with Lidl this festive season by adding Lidl’s Christmas jumpers to our shared wardrobe on the app. With Christmas being one of the top occasions of the year when the demand for purchasing single-wear outfits skyrockets, renting a festive jumper for your holiday season plans is a great way to leave a positive impact on the planet and also save money!”

Lydia Bolton, Slow Fashion Designer, says of the partnership: “I’ve loved being a part of Lidl’s Christmas iconic jumper campaign. Designing and producing these jumpers inspired by Christmas icons from second-hand textiles has been super fun and creative, but knowing they are going to be rented and re-worn also supports my mission of valuing and reusing textiles.”

Lidl’s Christmas jumper collection is available for hire on By Rotation from 23rd Nov - 31st December, starting from £2 with all profits going to the NSPCC. Explore the collection on byrotation.app.link/lidl.
