23RD AUGUST, LONDON – Lidl’s Perlenbacher Premium Pilsner has been officially awarded the ‘World’s Best Classic Pilsner’ at the World Beer Awards 2024.
The pilsner came out on ‘hop’ after three rounds of assessments, including an initial blind taste test by the judges, followed by a second taste test round to decide which product has taken home the gold for each country and last but not yeast a final world champion is decided. Other well-known Pilsners include Stella Artois, Heineken and Amstel but when the world’s best Pilsner can be enjoyed at home for just £1.29, who needs the pub?!
